Abstract

Despite the unstable global economic conditions, the global education sector continues to grow; at the same time, competition within this sector is intensifying at both the national and global levels. Effective measures aimed at improving the quality of Russian higher education and its export are possible only with an understanding of the current trajectory of development in the domestic higher education sector and how it relates to global trends. The aim of this paper is to determine the specific characteristics of the development of Russian higher education by comparing trends in the global and Russian higher education environments.
